The Swiss Medical Network (SMN), which is part of the Aevis Victoria Group, is taking over the Zofingen Hospital. This is a subsidiary of Kantonsspital Aarau AG (KSA), with which a strategic partnership is also being entered into.
The takeover of Zofingen Hospital will be paid for in SMN shares, as Aevis announced on Thursday. The KSA will thereby become a strategic shareholder of SMN with a share of 3.57%. This is intended to establish “sustainable cooperation” between the two institutions.
This transaction confirms SMN’s valuation, which is the same as in the capital increase with Visana investments, according to Aevis. The collaboration with Visana was announced in mid-2023.
The takeover is expected to increase the consolidated sales of the Aevis Group by around CHF 100 million in 2025 and the consolidated equity by CHF 50 million. This underlines the significant financial impact of the acquisition.
The takeover of Zofingen Hospital will also create synergies, particularly in the areas of procurement, training and resource allocation. Efficiency improvements are expected to have a positive impact on the Group’s consolidated results from the 2025 financial year onwards, improving both operational performance and quality of care.
For Aevis, the acquisition is in line with the development of integrated healthcare, a strategic pillar of SMN and KSA. Together, the two partners want to establish a new cooperation model that will benefit patients and improve the efficiency of the Swiss healthcare system.
The Aevis shares are temporarily off because of the news Stock exchange trading exposed. Trading will now resume at 1 p.m., according to SIX.
