This Tuesday, December 10, representatives of all political parties were present for a special program “The BFM Assembly”, during which the two elected officials had a more than tense exchange.

While President Emmanuel Macron is still struggling to choose a new prime minister, representatives of each political party were present on the BFMTV set this Wednesday, December 10. It is at the turn of a debate on immigration within the special program “The BFM Assembly” presented by Benjamin Duhamel that the Reconquest MP Sarah Knafo and her LFI counterpart Manon Aubry held on.

After recounting the attacks and thefts that she suffered during her youth in Seine-Saint-Denis, Sarah Knafo assures that it “It’s not possible to live like that in a country like .” “We are a big country, it’s not possible to get used to this kind of thing,” she insists before noticing that her opponent is trying to react to her remarks. “It’s not possible that Manon Aubry wants to bump into me and cut me off because I’m simply saying the experience I had as a young girl”she continues.

In front of her, the member of La France Insoumise tries to answer her but her opponent continues. “I'm going to end on this: there are common sense measures (…), which find a consensus among the French but not here, that's what's dramatic”continues Sarah Knafo. “That’s why I told you earlier that you are cutting yourself off from the rest of the people…” Despite his desire to continue, Benjamin Duhamel takes over as moderator on the set, interrupts and gives the floor to Manon Aubry.

“It turns out, Sarah Knafo, that I am also a young woman, I even think we are around the same age”begins the LFI MP. “We are arriving at this moment in political debates – I’ll tell you how I think it – this abject moment for women’s rights. This moment when you exploit women's rights. Furthermore, you are quite poorly placed, since you are in a party whose leader, Éric Zemmour, is himself being prosecuted for sexual violence.

Sarah Knafo interrupts him to ask him several times to mention Adrien Quatennens, former LFI deputy convicted of domestic violence in 2021. Manon Aubry specifies that the latter “no longer sits in his group and is no longer elected”. The Reconquest MP does not budge. “Éric Zemmour is not being prosecuted for sexual violence, it’s fake news, Mr. Duhamel, can we just correct the fake news, the lies”she asserts. The politician has not in fact been prosecuted to date, but has been accused by several women.

“Am I racist? It's the best. »

Manon Aubry then speaks again: “It turns out that 90% of sexist and sexual violence is committed by those around them…” The LFI MP does not finish her sentence, challenged by Sarah Knafo who tells her “to go and say that to Claire Geronimi »victim of rape perpetrated by a man under OQTF. The left-wing MEP replied: “You are using the issue of women’s rights to serve all your racist and xenophobic questions, it’s unbearable.”

On the other side of the stage, Sarah Knafo sees red: “Am I racist? It’s the best.” His interlocutor does not answer him and continues: “The woman that I am, who also expects action from a government which has never acted on the issue of sexist and sexual violence, that society which is completely upset by the trial of Gisèle Pelicot, expects action, means, a change in the definition of rape.” And to emphasize: “We could have done a chapter on the issue of women's rights but you see this chapter, it has nothing to do with immigration issues
