Today, Wednesday, the International Federation of Association (FIFA) officially approved the Kingdom of Morocco’s organization of the 2030 World Cup finals, in its joint file with Spain and Portugal, a file that enjoys great confidence from the body that governs world football.

FIFA’s approval of the tripartite file to organize the 2030 World Cup, along with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s file in the next version in 2034, came through an extraordinary “Congress” headed by the President of the International Federation, Gianni Infantino. Thus, Morocco will be the second Arab country to host this global football tournament after Qatar in the last edition in 2022, which was marked by historic Moroccan football brilliance.

In his speech during this conference, Infantino stressed the value of football in bringing people together and consolidating relations between different countries, noting that it has sporting, economic, cultural and social dimensions.

Fawzi Lakjaa, President of the Football University, also expressed, in a recorded “video” clip that was shown during the “FIFA” virtual conference, his gratitude for these happy moments that we are experiencing in organizing the 2030 World Cup with Spain and Portugal, and he continued: “This tripartite nomination to organize the 2030 World Cup makes… A place for himself in history. This hosting will contribute to making sport a lever for social, economic and human development.”

FIFA had published in a previous report last November that the joint bid of Morocco, Spain, and Portugal is the only one in the race, and is distinguished by its “comprehensive quality,” as it exceeds the minimum hosting requirements stated in the technical evaluation required by the schedule of bids. He also gave a special evaluation of all the stadiums nominated to host the World Cup matches

The report explained that the tripartite file for organizing the 2030 World Cup aspires to achieve goals that go beyond the sporting aspect, and includes bringing people together and strengthening ties between two neighboring continents through a common passion for football, in addition to achieving great economic profits.

Morocco is competing strongly with Spain for the honor of hosting the final match of the 2030 World Cup, through the Hassan II Stadium, which will be built in Ben Slimane, with exceptional international specifications, comparable to the largest international stadiums. It will be one of the largest stadiums in the world with a capacity of up to 115,000 spectators, in the middle of a sports village. It is integrated, including a luxury hotel, facilities, shops, training fields, and modern transportation routes.

Morocco has nominated six stadiums in six different cities to host the 2030 World Cup, alongside Portugal and Spain. This concerns the “Hassan II Grand” Stadium in Casablanca, the “Agadir Grand Stadium” in Agadir, as well as the stadiums of Marrakesh and Fez, the Tangier Stadium and the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.

Regarding the demonstrations accompanying the “World Cup,” the Kingdom nominated the Grand Theater in Rabat to host the draw for the preliminary round and final rounds, in addition to the Palace of Conferences in Ben Jarir to host workshops and seminars for the national teams, as well as the Grand Theater in Casablanca to receive the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) conference.
