All roads lead to Clisson! Metal music fans know this perfectly, they who for 18 years now have been meeting in this small town in Loire-Atlantique as charming as it is peaceful… at least in ordinary times!
Because, with its 70,000 festival-goers per day, its six stages, and its monstrous programming, Hellfest is making noise, and not only in Landerneau. To the point of attracting a crowd of festival-goers from all over the world.
For once we're not going to travel 3000 km to throw some sound at you! ☺️ It’s our home and it’s crazy!!! And on the Mainstage please!
Groups are no exception to the rule. In June 2025, they will come from 28 different countries. Unsurprisingly, the United States once again makes up the bulk of the troops with 64 teams on display. Then come the British, numbering 16, the Germans, 13, the Norwegians, 12, without forgetting a few Swedes, Canadians, Australians, Finns, Icelanders, Hungarians, Croats, Israelis, Mongolians and even Ukrainians.
This year, there will be 27 French groups, approximately 14% of the total programming. A figure down slightly compared to last year, when 32 French groups, or 18% of the whole, performed.
These training courses come from Paris, Bordeaux, Lorient, Rennes, Grenoble and some from Nantes.
We start with people from Nantes, precisely. Ultra Vomit and its parody metal will be on MainStage2 on Thursday June 19. They will obviously play their fourth album called “Le Pouvoir de la Puissance”, released in October 2024. We met them on this occasion…

Four other groups from Nantes are also on the bill: Cachemire (rock), Lunar Tombfields (atmospheric black metal), Gravekvlt (occult rock) and Tsar (progressive metal) whom we interviewed in 2023 during his appearance on the HellStage, the “discovery and local groups” stage located at heart you Hellcity Square.
Among the groups already seen on Clisson, we will find Lion's law (Paris, oï), Novelists (Paris / Marseille, metalcore), Lucie Sue (Paris, rock) who came to play bass on a Steel Panther track at Hellfest 2022, Hexecutor (Rennes, thrash metal), Furies (Paris, heavy metal) played on the HellStage in 2018, Mars Red Sky (Bordeaux, psychedelic stoner), Alcest (Bagnols-sur-Cèze, blackgaze), Shaarghot (Paris, metal indus)…
For around fifteen groups, however, it will be the very first time: Les Garçons bouchers (Paris, punk rock) who will pay tribute to their leader François Hadji-Lazaro, who died in 2023, Calcine (Paris, hardcore), ADX (Oise , speed metal), The Chainsaw Motel (Rennes, nu core – stoner), Last Train (rock, Altkirch), Ashen (Paris, modern metal), Persefone (Andorra, death metal), Vestige (Paris, progressive metal – shoegaze), Wormsand (Menton, Stoner – sludge), Howard (Paris, Fuzz rock), Black Bile (Lorient, doom post metal), Luc arbogast (La Rochelle, medieval folk rock) , Aluk todolo (Grenoble, occult rock), The cemetery Girlz (France / ANDcosse, death rock).
