A Wydad official reveals the “huge” amount of money that Wydad will receive after participating in the World Cup

Al-Sabah daily reported, in its issue for the end of this week, that Al-Dessawi confirmed that the club had received semi-official information about each of the teams participating in the World Cup receiving $20 million, in addition to other privileges, despite the fact that the International Federation of Association (FIFA). According to Al-Desawy, the clubs participating in the World Cup (32 clubs from different continents) will receive other financial rewards according to their results in the matches and the roles they will reach.

Regarding investing in global participation, Al-Dessawi said that the club, which is headed by Hicham Ait Menna, will invest the proceeds in three axes, the first of which is to completely get rid of debts and disputes, the second is to carry out weighty assignments to secure the club’s sporting future, as he put it, and the third is to make investments that will provide continental resources for the club in the future.

Wydad, as is known, after the election of its president, Ait Menna, last summer, made great efforts to reduce its debt by settling the outstanding disputes in which final rulings were issued by the competent committees in favor of former players and coaches, and settling others in an amicable manner to avoid that procedure, which enabled The club is able to lift the ban and qualify new players.

Commenting on the results of the draw, Al-Dessawi said that all components of the Wydad family are proud to participate in this global event that includes the best clubs at the international level.

Regarding the team’s chances, Al-Dessawi said: “It is true that the draw placed us in the group of death, but we will do everything in our power to honor our country and our club and for our participation to be at the level that Morocco has reached at all levels.”

The draw, which took place in Miami, USA, placed Wydad Athletic Club, the national football representative and one of the African football representatives, in Group Seven, alongside Manchester City of England, Juventus of Italy, and Al Ain of the UAE.

Al-Dessawi added that, in recent years, Wydad has contributed greatly to the glow of national football on the continental level, “and today there is a football renaissance in Morocco and it is an honor for us to be part of it.”

It is noteworthy that the new edition of the Club World Cup will be held in the United States of America between June 15 and July 18.
