“The Taste” is available SAT.1 In the broadcast schedule again in 2024. Once again, Angelina Kirsch will moderate the event. The well-known quartet of judges from the last few seasons can also be seen on the broadcast dates of “The Taste”. In addition to well-known faces such as Alexander Herrmann, Alex Kumptner and Tim Raue, Frank Rosin will also be there again instead of Nelson Müller. They all look after their own team at “The Taste”.

Alexander Herrmann was born into a family of hoteliers and learned the cooking trade from an early age. He began his training at a hotel management school in Altötting, Upper Bavaria, followed by an apprenticeship as a chef in Nuremberg. After an internship in Belgium, he returned and completed his master’s examination as the best graduate of the year, where he was also recognized by the Bavarian state government. In 1995 he returned to his roots and took over the position of head chef in the family business “Herrmanns Romantik Posthotel” in Wirsberg.

Between 2001 and 2005, Alex Kumptner completed a cooking apprenticeship under the guidance of Werner Matt at the Hilton Vienna Plaza. He then spent four years in Reinhard Gerer’s Restaurant Corso and used this time to continue his training in renowned restaurants in Germany. He also worked in various top restaurants in Germany to hone his cooking skills. This was followed by stops at Gerers K47 and Albertina Passage, both in Vienna. In 2020, Alex Kumptner founded the Viennese day bar “Everybody’s Darling” and expanded it in 2021 to include the restaurant “Esszimmer”, where he works as head chef.

Raue grew up in humble circumstances in the Wrangelkiez in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district, as he said in an interview for Focus Style reported with Jost Kaiser. He completed his culinary training at Chalet Suisse in Grunewald. He then worked in various renowned restaurants, including the “First Floor” in 1994 and the “Rosenbaum” restaurant in 1997, where he worked as head chef. In the same position he moved to the Kaiserstuben at the age of 23, for which his colleagues from The foodie as “Rising Star of the Year”.

Frank Rosin was born on July 17, 1966 in Dorsten. His parents ran a wholesaler of catering supplies and a chip shop, which brought him into contact with the catering world at a young age. Between 1982 and 1985 he completed his cooking apprenticeship at the “Monopol” hotel and the “Kaiserau” restaurant in Gelsenkirchen. Frank Rosin then went on a journey and worked for a year as a young chef in California and Spain, enriching his culinary skills with international experience. Frank Rosin not only works as a chef and restaurant owner, but also as a consultant and moderator for catering businesses. Since 2011 he has been cleaning up in his show “Rosins Restaurants – a star chef cleans up”. Cable One offers his help to restaurant owners in difficult situations to improve their image and their cuisine. In addition, in the program “Rosins Kantinen” on the same channel, he tries to help canteen companies in financial difficulties.
