Nathan Tella scored the goal in the 69th minute. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was shown a red card in the 17th minute. Werder Bremen also reached the next round. Bremen also scored 1-0 against Darmstadt 98. The goal was only scored in stoppage time by Anthony Jung.
