NARRATIVE – The French president entered into a strategic partnership with the crown prince in Riyadh.
Under the dome of the Mandarin Hotel in Riyadh, French and Saudi businessmen exchange business cards, while waiting for Emmanuel Macron to speak on Tuesday, the second day of his trip to Saudi Arabia. From the podium, some of his ministers, like Rachida Dati, praised the potential for cooperation between the two countries.
The evening before, Emmanuel Macron and Mohammed Ben Salman (MBS) had concluded a new Franco-Saudi strategic partnership. « Energy transition, defense, mobility, culture and much more : we will increase our cooperation in all areas », welcomed the Head of State on the X network after a dinner with the de facto leader of this regional power. France and Arabia particularly want to “move forward” on the sale of Rafale* combat aircraft.
Several contracts have also been signed: EDF Renewables (construction of two solar power plants), TotalEnergies, etc.
