On a mountain road in the Porté Puymorens sector in the Pyrénées-Orientales, a bus carrying 47 people hit a cliff. The emergency services eventually reached the accident area, but the results still remain uncertain.
In the first images of the accident, it is possible to see a bus embedded in the cliff. Part of the vehicle is crushed, signaling a violent impact.
Another image shows victims wrapped in survival blankets. While the firefighters provided first aid, France Télévisions journalists were able to reach them by telephone: “We were alerted at 5 p.m. for an accident involving a Spanish coach on national road 320 in Porté Puymorens. It is a steep road with many mountains. 120 firefighters were mobilized,” explains a rescuer.
The accident occurred on a mountain road in the Pyrénées-Orientales near the town of Porté Puymorens. The bus was carrying 47 people, including the driver. According to initial information, the vehicle hit the cliff, but the exact circumstances of the accident are not yet known.
