The 38th edition of the Telethon kicked off with great fanfare this Friday, November 29 in the evening, at Place Saint-Corentin. An XXL event. And for good reason! This year, was chosen by the AFM-Téléthon to be one of the four Ambassador Cities.

The festivities continue this Saturday, November 30. Among the highlights, live from from 11:15 a.m., in duplex from Quimper. The cameras will be placed in the shadow of the cathedral, a stone's throw from the Telethon village and the stage. To host the live broadcast, Carole Gaessler and Raphäl Yem, accompanied by singer Hervé, the city's godfather for this event. Just before going on air, at 11 a.m., Kenleur will invite the dancers to take turns for twelve hours, to create the longest gavotte. At 12:40 p.m., Place Saint-Co will also host a giant flash mob in sailor shirts. From 2 p.m. and until the evening, several groups and singers will also perform on the square and in the cathedral. A cathedral on which the cameras will be focused again this Saturday, when the Grimpeurs de l'Odet and Carole Gaessler will rappel down the north tower. From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., members of the French mountain and climbing federation will also be able to descend, for the benefit of the Telethon. Without forgetting that the pancake marathon, intended to produce 10,000 buckwheat and wheat, but we are already beyond that, continues throughout the day, across the city…

This year again, around sixty clubs, associations and local structures, starting with the Force T Quimper association, are mobilized to offer activities and challenges, with a view to raising as much money as possible to advance research. Last year, nearly €41,000 was collected in Quimper during the Telethon.
