For twelve years, Elena was stuck with blue lights under which she had to sleep every night. The fault is Crigler-Najjar disease, a particularly rare and disabling liver pathology. But over the past year, she has been freed from it thanks to a new gene therapy. “At first, it made me feel strange, because the lamps were the only way to keep me alive,” says the teenager, in his house in Cocheren (Moselle). His journey is one of the beautiful stories made possible by the Telethon, the new edition of which begins this Friday, November 29 until Saturday.
