the essential
The Modem deputy Nicolas Turquois, and his LFI counterpart, Antoine Léaument, were close to a physical altercation this Thursday, November 28 in the Assembly, in the ultra-tense context of discussions around the repeal of the pension reform . The public debate has rarely been so electric in the hemicycle.
“I think that without the intervention of the bailiffs, he would have given me one.” Antoine Léaument thus summarized the heated altercation, which remained verbal, between him and the Modem deputy for Vienne, Nicolas Turquois, this Thursday, November 28 in the Assembly.

While La France insoumise tried by all means to lead the debates until the vote on their proposal to repeal the pension reform at 64, and while on the other side, the political forces allied to the government tried, in multiplying the amendments, to slow down the discussions, two deputies almost came to blows.
“Because of you, I am threatened”
According to LFI deputy Antoine Léaument, at the center of this sequence, his Modem counterpart, Nicolas Turquois, threatened a PS deputy. He was then asked to leave the room, accompanied by the ushers of the Palais Bourbon. And while at the foot of the stands, Antoine Léaument told him to get out, we see on the images Nicolas Turquois turn around and rush towards the LFI deputy in a threatening manner, suggesting that he could actually have transformed this verbal joust and physical jousting.
When I asked him to leave the hemicycle, MP Turquois came back to physically threaten me.
The Macronists are losing their nerve.
Their physical violence is only a reflection of their social violence.

On BFMTV, Antoine Léaument gave his version of the facts, explaining that the Modem deputy accused him of putting a target on his back in the context of the repeal of the pension reform, blocked in particular by the Modem elected officials. “He came to me, he told me 'because of you, I am threatened', which is not true. He mentioned sending emails from people who are currently calling out the Macronist deputies for that they withdraw their amendments so that we can go as far as a vote on the repeal of this pension reform at age 64.”
Physical threats have no place in the Assembly.
No more than the social violence of retirement at 64.
Whatever happens, we will stay focused on our goal.
Uphold the sovereignty of the people.

The tension in fact rose crescendo in the hemicycle throughout the day, culminating in this incident which took place around 10 p.m., when Nicolas Turquois came to complain to the PS deputy Mickaël Bouloux about threats and insults received by his family because of his opposition to pension reform.
“My family was threatened! And these are people from your village!”, he allegedly told the deputy for Ille-et-Vilaine, according to an article in Figaro. The president of the MoDem group Marc Fesneau intervened, as well as ushers, before he left the hemicycle, it is specified.
