“We have to stop recess. This trial is a political trial. They had to find a way to send him to prison. There is even a mix-up by the master of prosecutions. We had been looking for the little creature for a long time. You cannot impose your way of understanding Wolof on us. The prosecutor’s dictionary has no scientific authenticity. The definition of ‘Alkou’ which he gave means a people duped and abused. These are not insults. We are looking for the beast to silence an eminent intellectual. Justice should not be used to bully and defeat political adversaries. We cannot follow the instructions of the head of government. You are our last defense. Do not do justice to victors. Relax purely and simply to reassure the Senegalese people that justice cannot be confiscated,” he declared.
