A worrying injury update on two Liverpool players has been delivered ahead of their Premier League clash against Manchester City this weekend.

On Wednesday night, Liverpool faced their toughest test to date as they took on European champions Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.

Under the lights at Anfield, the Reds produced a stunning display as goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo sealed a 2-0 win.

As a result, Liverpool stay top of the Champions League table as they are the only team to have won all of their matches.

However, the victory was marred by potential injuries suffered by Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate.

Bradley was replaced in the 87th minute with what looked like a hamstring injury.

Meanwhile, Frenchman Konate went down in the last few seconds after colliding with Endrick.

After the match, a video of Konate limping off the pitch emerged on social media, you can watch the footage below.

As shown in the video, the centre-back was seen limping and rubbing his knee as he slowly walked off the Anfield turf flanked by medical staff.

On social media, a injury expert gave worrying updates on both Konate and Bradley ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash against City.

Physio Scout wrote on X: “Ibrahima Konate was injured late in the game between Liverpool and Real Madrid. This mechanism brings concern for an MCL injury. Contact from outside of the knee, causes an inward force to Konate’s right leg. Hoping secondary damage to the ACL is avoided (unlikely here).

“Sometimes the mechanism may stress the ankle, however, it seemed like Konate was having issues with the knee. The other possibility is a high ankle sprain. Potential Recovery Time: Grade 1: 1-2 weeks. Grade 2: 3-6 weeks. Grade 3: 6-10 weeks.

“Based on the video, it may seem like he will miss some time out. Scans will be needed in order to confirm this. Physio was seen doing tests on the right knee, which would confirm our suspicions.”

On Bradley, Physio Scout added: “Conor Bradley came off late in the second half with a hamstring injury.

“Scans will be needed to determine the extent of the injury, as it is hard to analyse time lengths for muscle injuries. Didn’t seem like a serious (grade 3) mechanism, but more tightness or smaller strain.”

When asked about Konate and Bradley after the match, Liverpool boss Arne Slot said: “It’s difficult to judge so soon after the game. I’m really hoping that both will be available to play.”
