Michel Barnier's government is more than ever under threat of a motion of censure at a time when the debates on the 2025 Budget are shaking the benches of the National Assembly. Guest of RTL, Thursday November 28, the leader of the socialist deputies (PS), Boris Vallaud, was very critical of the Prime Minister and his “new method”. “Mr. Barnier has disappeared from circulation for two months“, he lambasted. “Have you heard him talking about the Budget for two months? We didn’t hear it,” he also regrets.
“The only proposal that has been made by his government is to resume a tax on sugary drinks. Sorry, but that’s not how serious we are,” continued Boris Vallaud. “Our project is to change political line, change Prime Minister and above all change Budget“, insisted the Landes MP.
“What is the point of the parliamentary debate and this promise of a change of method if the reality is that there is none?” he asked. Boris Vallaud also took aim at the macronie and its successive governments, the sole person responsible for the country's budgetary situation: “We have no share of responsibility in the 60 billion budget slippage“The eminent and serious responsibility lies with the central bloc,” he insisted.
