Good news for French-speaking animators! From December 2024, French and Belgian animator certificates will be mutually recognized. This means that animators will be able to more easilyilely work on both sides of the border, thus opening up new professional prospects. This decision, the result of collaboration between and Belgium, is intended to facilitate the mobility of facilitators between France and Belgium.

It was on the occasion of the Council of Ministers of Sports and Youth of the European Union which took place on November 25 and 26, that the Minister of Sports, Youth and Community Life, Gil Avérous, met with the Minister of Youth of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (FW-B), Valérie Lescrenier, to confirm the mutual recognition of facilitator certificates between France and the FW-B.

Until now, young BAFA holders could already exercise leadership functions within the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, by obtaining the individual equivalence of their certificate through the Federation's services. This possibility is now open to young leaders holding a holiday center leader certificate (BACV) approved by the French Community of Belgium (called the Wallonia Brussels Federation), who will be able to practice in France.

Namely

The certificate of aptitude for facilitator functions (BAFA) in France and the holiday center facilitator certificate (BACV) in Belgium are diplomas which allow occasional, non-professional supervision of children and adolescents in collective care for minors.
