Exceptionally advanced this year, the major solidarity operation against genetic diseases and myopathies is taking place in Alès in a multitude of festivities from this Thursday, November 28. Non-exhaustive selection.

Here we will find the major supporters of the Telethon. Under coordination led by Hélène Cayrier, elected representative of Alès in charge of charitable associations, young people and part of the sporting and cultural world of the capital of the Cévennes will be moving from this Thursday, November 28 to support the cause of the essential operation national campaign against myopathies and rare genetic diseases.

Parade and actions of high school students

This year, the operation is exceptionally advanced in the schedule due to the reopening of Notre-Dame de . Since the Covid crisis, then with the economic problems linked to inflation, “all associations struggle to find volunteers, especially among young people”regrets Hélène Cayrier. But in Alès, “sports and solidarity associations will be very present, and we must thank them for that”.

Among them, the municipal sports office will carry out the great torchlight procession, this Friday, November 29, 5:15 p.m., which includes a torch parade. “open to all” which will cross the main streets of the city center departing from the town hall (price: €3). The party will continue with a free concert by the Rythme et Mouvement association, 8:30 p.m. at the Espace Cazot. At the same time, the De La Salle high school will offer a dance show. The students of the establishment will also take over, on November 28 at 2:30 p.m., the town hall square to form a giant human figure which will form 3637, the call number to make a donation.

Festive meal and first dive

Saturday November 30, the Alès diving club takes over the Toboggan swimming pool, from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m., to offer first-time diving sessions. The funds collected will, here too, be entirely donated to the Telethon. From 8 p.m. to midnight the same day; the CVN Action association will offer the traditional dancing meal at the Cazot space. The latter, priced at €25, will be animated, in particular, by a raffle with prizes offered by around ten traders from the Alesian center.

Events until December 14

The Alesian mobilizations for the Telethon will continue throughout next week, with a climax during the first weekend of December. Saturday 7, from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., young people aged 10 to 25 are invited to participate in video game tournaments at the youth center (participation: €2). The same day, at 1:15 p.m., a climb of Sainte-Barbe, from the Rochebelle church towards the Hermitage, is organized for walkers of all levels. At the same time, the Vélo Club Alésien will go on a hike from the Place des Martyrs-de-la-Résistance, where the ice rink set up for the Christmas holidays will also award its winnings of the day for the Telethon. The Telethon mobilization will end on Saturday December 14 with a country ball from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Cazot space. The appointment, by reservation, is already full.
