Happy Thanksgiving, Aviation’s First Responders!

November 28, 2024

Dear Flying Partners, friends, and family,

First and foremost, thank you. We are in the midst of what TSA estimates will be the busiest Thanksgiving travel period on record with 18.3 million passengers flying. We make it possible for millions of Americans to come together with loved ones across the country. Take a minute to thank each other.

We’re grateful for our solidarity.

Our solidarity is all around us, every day. No doubt you can recount many stories of Flight Attendants looking out for each other and examples of other airline workers, hotel workers, restaurant workers, baristas and others who identify with each other and express solidarity because of the bond we have as people on the frontlines facilitating the safe travel of the public – and caring for each other.

When you hear talking heads on talking about division, or when an argument breaks out over pie, remember our solidarity. In our unions we find common ground with one another across political, religious, and cultural differences. We learn to work together, to support one another, to advocate for our positions, and to listen to others. We learn to compromise, negotiate, and how to link arms to fight against those who would exploit and divide us.

Our union is a community where we can be resilient and fight back. Solidarity is how we make change, together.

We are grateful every day for the opportunity to lead this union, for the trust you have put in us, and for the incredible opportunity we have to create solidarity in this world.

Whether you are flying, celebrating with family and friends, or have other plans, we send warm wishes to you and yours for a safe and very Happy Thanksgiving!

In solidarity,

Sara, Keturah & Dante
AFA International Officers
