German fans taken to hospital after ambush
The Serbian police sometimes resorted to violence to enforce this order, according to several testimonies. The coaches and their passengers were searched for pyrotechnic devices. In solidarity with the supporters who chose, forced by circumstances, to interrupt this journey, those who were able to reach the stadium were asked to refrain from any demonstration of support during the match.
Furthermore, incidents broke out on the sidelines of the meeting in downtown Belgrade. Videos circulating on social networks and since authenticated by the German press show German supporters chased and beaten near the Zeleni Venac market.
