While Messi and Ronaldo add to their already enormous fortunes in less ambitious leagues, Lewandowski is the star of the LaLiga leader and the most effective player in the Spanish top league.

Before the start of the competition, the fans were looking forward to the fight between the Pole and Kylian Mbappe, who finally decided to transfer to Real Madrid. However, this duel is only in theory, because the Frenchman has no chance of competing with “Lewy”. And he personally saw our player's amazing form quite recently, on October 26, when Lewandowski silenced the Santiago Bernabeu in three minutes, scoring two goals and leading Barca to an incredible 4-0 victory over their eternal rival.

The whole world was writing about another magical evening of our footballer. And it's hardly surprising, because “Lewy” is at an age when many attackers have long only recalled good times and scored goals. And he proves what he announced a long time ago and what was not entirely taken seriously – that he feels much younger and has many seasons ahead of him. He has already become the most effective Pole in LaLiga, and yet he is only playing there for the third season.

An unlucky year for the squad

Just as we admire Lewandowski's performances in the colors of Barcelona and wonder what it is about coach Hansi Flick that under his leadership “Lewy” again achieved the form of his life, we also try to understand why he is not able to record such results in the Polish national team. He had a lot of bad luck in the national team this year. In the last test before EURO 2024 in Germany, he suffered an injury in the match against Turkey (2:1), which excluded him from the match against the Netherlands (1:2), and against Austria (1:3) he appeared on the pitch only in the second half. When he played in the starting lineup against France (1:1), the Poles played probably the best match this year, drawing with the world runners-up.

Lewandowski, however, is breaking his own record of matches and goals for the national team. And this attitude must also be appreciated, because at his age, many players simply give up playing in the national team. And he still wants to.
