RB too harmless in the first half
RB started boldly at San Siro, but that quickly turned out to be a flash in the pan. Inter gained more and more control of the game and restricted the guests. Goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi was warmed up after just ten minutes. Federico Dimarco forced the Hungarian to react well (8th). Christoph Baumgartner saved the score from 0-2 (31st) with a save in front of the line after a shot from Benjamin Pavard. Inter now withdrew in phases and left Leipzig more space. But RB, who preferred André Silva to Benjamin Sesko in attack, remained harmless.
Two chances to equalize
The second half began after 32 seconds with a chance for the Dutchman Denzel Dumfries, his shot flew wide to the right. Ex-Leverkusen player Hakan Calhanoglu tested Gulacsi with a touchdown (51′). “It was clear to us in the first half that we were struggling with our self-image. In the second half after the moment of shock, we got the game well under control.
