A man is facing charges after he stole $1,770 in merchandise from the Lululemon store in the Prudential Mall in Boston on Monday, police said. Police were called at 3:18 p.m. to the mall for a report of a larceny in progress at the athleisure store. Upon arrival, officers saw the suspect, later identified as Michael Gouthro, 52, of Malden, walking down a staircase toward the exit.Officers said they stopped Gouthro and could see that his arm was pinned to his body as he was attempting to conceal something.The stolen merchandise, which still had the store tags attached, was recovered and returned to the store manager, police said. Gouthro was charged with shoplifting by concealing and is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
