There is no doubt that Hussein El-Shahat is one of the most important players in the history of Al-Ahly Club, especially after he scored his 21st goal in the African Champions League in front of Abidjan Stadium.
Al-Ahly defeated Abidjan Stadium with a score of 4-2, in the match that was held at Cairo International Stadium, as part of the first round matches of the 2024-25 CAF Champions League.
Hussein Al-Shahat scored the third goal for Al-Ahly in the 26th minute, after he shot the ball with his left foot from inside the penalty area into the net of the Abidjan Stadium team. (To view the goal click here)
With this goal, Hussein Al-Shahat occupies fourth place in the table of Al-Ahly’s top scorers in the African Championships, with 21 goals, and this list is topped by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the current president of Al-Ahly, with 37 goals.

It is noteworthy that Hussein El-Shahat is nominated to win the Best Player Award in Africa, along with Mustafa Schubert and Ahmed Sayed Zizo, at the awards ceremony presented by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
