There has been a lot of snow in the last few days, especially in the lowlands. The pictures from before and after.

In the lowlands it is sometimes hard to believe that just a few days ago snowflakes were falling tirelessly from the sky and snowball fights and cross-country ski races were taking place on the streets. After the significant snowfalls on November 21st and 22nd, warmer air reached the Alpine region. In addition, strong to stormy foehn blew temporarily.

In many places, such as in Basel, it is already green again – the snow is history. On the day of the second recording, a high of almost 14 degrees was reached. In nearby Delémont/JU the 20 degree mark was even broken.

There is still enough snow on the Fronalpstock (1921 m) for a snowball fight. But in the sufficiently sunny regions around Brunnen/SZ (435 m) the snow was already gone two days later.
A little consolation for snow fans
On Thursday a disturbance above 2000 m will bring more snow. Between 20 cm and 40 cm of fresh snow will fall on the central and eastern northern slopes of the Alps, and between 5 cm and 20 cm in the other mountains on the northern side of the Alps. The snowfall line will also drop throughout the day.
The Eiger will receive another load of snow on Thursday.
