BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) – Rain into Tuesday continues to give relief from the drought that is still categorized as extreme for much of NCWV. More rain coming our way for Thanksgiving, too. After that though, it should be cold enough to see snow as opposed to rain. However, we are not seeing anything major in that category. For Tuesday, clouds break for sunshine but temperatures should hold steady in the 40s most of the day. Clear to partly cloudy tonight and cold with lows in the lower 30s to 20s in the mountains. Any sun earlier on Wednesday will give way to clouds. The good news is that it looks to be dry for travel. Rain should arrive after sunset and continue most of Thanksgiving morning and into the early afternoon hours. Cold air moves in behind this storm system and precipitation will end for most places. The exception will be above 3,500 feet where snow showers will occur and continue at times into Black Friday. By the end of the day, there could be a fresh 1″ to 3″ for locations at or above that elevation. Cold with more clouds than sun this weekend with a few flurries, perhaps. Cold temperatures continue well into next week. Generally, highs will be in the lower 30s for the lowlands and 20s in the mountains. Lows in the morning hours drop to the low 20s in the lowlands and teens in higher valleys. By Wednesday, a new storm system could bring rain that turns to snow.
