Eagles vs. Rams score and live updates: Karty misses FG, Philly leads 27-14

The second half started poorly for the Rams and got worse. Saquon Barkley ripped out a 70-yard touchdown run on the first play from scrimmage. The Rams happily accepted a pass interference flag on a long third down and turned it into a touchdown, but the Eagles scored again to go up 27-14. To add embarrassment: The 13-yard run by Kenneth Gainwell was preceded by a do-over third-and-10 that was replayed because of off-setting penalties. The Eagles picked up the yards and more on both plays, and the latter counted.

When the Rams got downfield on their next possession, a holding penalty on third-and-3 from the Eagles 14-yard line moved the offense back to third-and-13, where quarterback Matthew Stafford took a five-yard sack. Joshua Karty then missed a 47-yard field goal attempt, his fifth missed field goal of the season.

The Rams have struggled mightily with pressure from all directions from Vic Fangio’s defense. While they’ve devoted the bulk of snaps to double-teaming Jalen Carter, extra rushers are winning quickly against extra blockers and the right side of the line, featuring backup tackle Warren McClendon, has been a stress point all game.
