INTERVIEW DIVERTO – In 2006, Vitaa found success thanks to a six-minute song, which looks like a UFO, Nocturnal confessions. A duet piece with Diam's, the origin of which she reveals to us.

Mel, sit down, I need to talk to you...”. This phrase has become that of an entire generation, bottle-fed in the song Nocturnal confessions from Diam's and Vitaa. In 2006, the two artists created a tidal wave with this six-minute UFO, which was even taken up by Pascal Obispo and Michaël Youn in an almost equally unforgettable parody. But what few people know is that this song is also that of two friends, who have known each other for years. Asked by I have funVitaa explains: “Mélanie and I met very young. I wasn't even twenty, I think! I had put my voice on two songs and, yet, she had spotted my voice and found it incredible“.

Vitaa on Diam's: “I was a fan of this girl, her cheekiness, her writing”

Their meeting will take place in a professional setting, when Vitaa chooses to collaborate with Diam's on a piece of a compilation: “I was a fan of this girl, of her cheekiness, of her writing“. “It was instant, we became friends straight away. I would go up to her house in , she would take me on vacation with her, we would tell each other about our little lives, I would make her listen to my songs… One thing led to another, we stayed like that for almost seven years. One day, she invited me to her album and we made Confessions nuits. It was a tidal wave, it was the first title with which people discovered me“, she adds.

Anthem of a generation that was a teenager or young adult in the 2000s, the title is still legendary today: “If all the girls of our generation, and even those before me, felt invested in this song, I think it's for the girl power side“, explains Vitaa. A song for which the two artists were inspired by their own lives.
