Michel Blanc died suddenly in October at the age of 72, following anaphylactic shock. A month and a half later, Elise Lucet brought together several members of the Splendid troupe for a testimony broadcast in Special Envoy.
It was on a theater stage, that of the Splendid of course, that Josiane Balasko, Thierry Lhermitte, Gérard Jugnot and Bruno Moynot spoke, still stunned by the disappearance of their friend.
“CIt was absurd to think he was in that box. Honestly, he was with us“, said Thierry Lhermitte about the funeral. A feeling shared by his acolytes. “It felt like he was aligned with us in the church, honestly“, continued Bruno Moynot. Faced with these painful memories, Gérard Jugnot then added a touch of humor: “Not necessarily because he was always late and very often he didn't want to come…” “Common things” cut Josiane Balasko. Comments confirmed by Jugnot: “Whenever there was a group thing, it pissed him off.“
Michel Blanc still present according to the members of Splendid
Since that sad day of the surreal funeral for some of them, the members of Splendid still feel the void left by Michel Blanc. When Elise Lucet asks them what they are thinking while standing like this in this theater without him, Thierry Lhermitte, for example, cannot find the words. “He is with us“, then says Josiane Balasko. Bruno Moynot also has the “sfeeling that he is there” : “We didn't see each other much, he's not missing in everyday life but he's missing in the idea that we'll never do anything together again.e“, explains Gérard Jugnot. And Josiane Balasko concludes: “Besides, he has never been with us as much as since he left.“
As a reminder, for the 50th anniversary of the Splendid troupe, its members released the book The Splendid by the Splendid, we had so much funjust published yesterday. A work to which Michel Blanc had contributed and the proceeds of which will be donated to medical research.
