Storm Caetano hit the Haut-Rhin. Météo-France recorded up to 30 cm of snow in the plains on Friday, November 22, and firefighters in the area had to intervene numerous times.
The early snow episode hit, Thursday, November 21, the Haut-Rhin(Alsace). According to Météo France, the department was one of the most affected by this early weather. There are snow depths of 15 to 30 centimeters of snow. The negative temperatures overnight worsened traffic conditions throughout the area.
The Haut-Rhin firefighters carried out numerous interventions during the night. Around fifteen of them concerned road accidents, and around thirty involved clearing roads blocked by trees or torn cables. Rail lines are also affected. The SNCF announces severely disrupted traffic. No serious injuries were reported, Haut-Rhin and Bas-Rhin included. Snowfall is now over in all departments on orange alert.
