After the strong storm on the night of Tuesday 19 to Wednesday 20 in Corsica, the gusts started again this night from Thursday 21 to Friday 22 November. The wind blew into an already fragile sector, and the consequences, although material, are numerous.

Weather and warnings

In Corsica, the orange “wind” vigilance is extended, for the moment, until 10 a.m. The strongest gusts currently occurred at the end of the night this Friday: 150 km/h on the Balagne coast, 160 to 180 km/h on Cap Corse, 120 to 160 km/h by surge on Conca and Porto -Vecchio. The western coast is not affected for the moment, according to Météo .

As a direct consequence of these winds, Corsica-du-Sud has also been placed on yellow alert. “submersion waves” from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Haute-Corse is affected by the “flood” parameter. An orange alert has been issued from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., it will be at yellow level from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This new episode of Libeccio remains a notch below that of Wednesday November 20 and should also be briefer. However, the expected values ​​remain high and occur in already weakened sectors. According to the latest Météo France bulletin, the wind will weaken significantly in the morning after reaching a peak between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m., Corsica will remain on yellow alert until 12 p.m.

The road to San Nicolao is also very blocked by falling trees.

Concerning intercity transport, to allow in particular the return of internal students, evening services are maintained on all lines.

However, in the morning, departures will be delayed as follows:

– departure at 12:00 for lines C1 (Aiacciu-Portivechju), C1 bis (Bonifaziu-Figari) and C5 (Portivechju-Aiacciu)

– departure at 2:30 p.m. for line C12 (Calvi-).

Air traffic

This Friday morning, airport is operating normally for the time being.

Power outages
