Puy-de-Dôme. After the broadcast of a “violent” video, the mayor of Clermont-Ferrand files a complaint

This Thursday, Olivier Bianchi, the mayor of Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme), filed a complaint in his own name. In question, the broadcast of a video where we can see his face as well as that of two of his deputies, Cyril Cineux and Thomas Weibel, crushed, while that of the environmentalist deputy for Puy-de-Dôme Nicolas Bonnet is cut with a blade. His elected colleagues did the same, the mayor's entourage said this Thursday.

On Monday, Olivier Bianchi made a report to the public prosecutor, Dominique Puechmaille, which was then sent to the police station for investigation.

« Un increasingly deleterious national climate”

“I deplore and condemn this symbolic violence against local elected officials which is part of an increasingly deleterious national climate,” declared the Clermont mayor in a press release. “Deleterious and dangerous because we have already experienced several physical attacks, sometimes very serious, against elected officials which followed such degrading images or insults online. »

“I have let hateful and insulting messages get through for a long time, but today my deputies are also targeted and I consider that we have crossed a red line and I say stop,” continues Olivier Bianchi, saying he does not accept “the threat , physical intimidation, particularly odious when it comes to cutting off a head with a knife or putting it through a pestle.”
