On Wednesday at 11:39 a.m. a winter storm warning was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Thursday 1 p.m. until Saturday 7 a.m. for Cambria and Somerset counties.
The weather service states to expect, “Heavy wet snow possible. Total snow accumulations 6 to 12 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.”
“Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes,” explains the weather service. “If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
