Thursday November 21
The passage of the Caetano depression is noticeable in our region.
It generates copious precipitation in the morning, in the form of rain over southern Brittany and on the tip of Brittany but in the form of snow from the interior of the Côtes d'Armor to the east of Ille-et-Vilaine. A layer of 2 to 5 cm is possible on Kreizh Breizh, Mené, the country of Rance and the northern half of Ille-et-Vilaine, or even up to 8 cm on the heights of Mené and on the country of Ferns. The precipitation gradually stops in the afternoon.
While in the northern half, the wind blows moderately from the east, in the south, it blows in a strong gust of wind from the west! Along the coast, stormy gusts are expected during the day, up to 120 km/h or even 130 km/h are possible on the southern capes of Finistère, Morbihan and Loire Atlantique. The wind also blows violently south of the Loire with 100 km/h inland. In the interior of southern Finistère and southern Morbihan, 90-100 km/h are also possible in gusts.
After the passage of the depression in the afternoon, the wind blows strongly across the entire region from the north to the northeast. Gusts of up to 80 km/h, even 90 km/h are expected along the Channel coasts and sometimes 80 km/h in the interior of Finistère, and Côtes d'Armor, 70 km/h on the 'Ille-et-Vilaine.
At the start of the morning, temperatures are close to 0 to 1°C inland in the northern half of Brittany, 2 to 4°C along the northern coast. Near the Atlantic coast, they are between 3 and 6°C. The maximums remain cold without the cold sector of the depression, that is to say on the Côtes d'Armor and Ille-et-Vilaine with 1 to 5°C. A few more degrees in Finistère. Conversely, the mild temperatures rise to the south with no less than 12 to 14°C in southern Morbihan and a large southern and western part of the Loire Atlantique.
Tendency
During the night from Thursday to Friday, a few showers of snow are possible and could locally whiten the ground. The day is then calmer with clearings, a sky veiled by Finistère and a few showers, mainly coastal. The wind is moderate from the northwest with peaks of 50-60 km/h on the coasts.
This weekend, an express mild spell is expected in a fast southwesterly flow. The wind is blowing like a gale on the tip of Brittany as a disturbance approaches which will take the whole weekend to really reach the departments other than Finistère. Temperatures could locally reach 19°C on Sunday afternoon in eastern Brittany.
