Snow is expected this Thursday, November 21, 2024, in several regions of France. In its latest bulletin, Météo France announces that it is placing 28 departments on orange snow and ice alert. The departments of Île-de-France, Aube, Yonne, Haute-Marne, Côte d'Or, Vosges, Haute-Saône, Doubs, Territoire de Belfort and Haut-Rhin are particularly concerned.
“The Caetano depression will cross France from west to east, and will cause snowfall to the north of its trajectory on an axis going from northern Brittany and Normandy to the Grand Est”notes the meteorological establishment.
“An early winter episode”
Next to “2 to 5 cm” are expected “in the plain, locally up to 10 cm above 200/300 m, and up to 15 to 20 cm in the east of Franche-Comté”he details, this Wednesday. This is a “early winter episode for the regions concerned and sufficiently notable to make traffic conditions difficult”, specifies the institute.
An extension of vigilance to “some neighboring departments nevertheless remain possible for future updates”warns Météo France.
