The snow will return this Thursday in Ile-de-France. A “early episode”according to Météo France which placed the region in orange snow-ice alert from 11:00 a.m. Thursday. “The CAETANO depression crosses France from west to east, circulating south of our region. It generates light but lasting snowfall throughout the afternoon before evacuating towards the east in the evening” .
These snowfalls will begin at midday in the west of the region. “Intensities are low, precipitation is intermittent in the north and more continuous towards the south of the region”specifies Météo France. The episode continues until the early evening then the precipitation evacuates towards the east. Icy is expected overnight from Thursday to Friday.
This snowy episode is “sufficiently significant to make traffic conditions difficult”, warns Météo France. We expect 1 to 3 cm of snow on the ground, locally 4 to 7 in the south of the region. (south of Yvelines and south of Essonne). However, the hold of the snow on the ground is “uncertain” due to the still warm floors.
