The Czech Republic and Wales have been promoted to the A division of the Nations League. With a 2-1 win over Georgia in group B1, the Czech Republic is assured of promotion to the highest level.
The same applies to Wales, which beat Turkey, which lost 3-1 to Montenegro, with a 4-1 win over Iceland.
England and Norway secured promotion to the top division earlier this week.
The last group matches of the Nations League were played on Tuesday evening. In group A3, the group of the Netherlands, Bosnia and Herzegovina was already certain of relegation to the B division before the draw (1-1) against the Dutch team. Poland, Switzerland and Israel also descend to the second level of the Nations League.
Quarterfinals
After last Saturday’s victory over Hungary, the Netherlands was already certain of the next round, just like group winner Germany. Portugal, Croatia, France, Italy, Spain and Denmark will also play in the quarter-finals, which will be played on March 20 and 23.
Because the Netherlands finished second in the group stage and cannot face Germany again, Portugal, France and Spain are the possible opponents.
The draw for the quarter-finals can be seen on Friday at 12 noon on NOS.nl and in the NOS app.
