Hello, here he is again! Michel Polnareff is back. At 80, which he celebrated on July 3, the singer still based in Los Angeles announced this Monday, November 18, the release of a new album, “Sexcetera”, which will be released on February 28, 2025. A single of the same name , which he started teasing on social networks on Sunday evening, should arrive on the platforms this Monday.
“Sexcetera”, written and composed by Polnareff, was mixed in London by Tom Archer, known in particular for having worked with Sam Smith. A tour, “his last”, he says, will accompany this new recording.
This is the 11th studio album of his career and the first since “Finally” published in 2018 and which bore its apt name. We then had to wait twenty-eight years since “Kâma sutra” in 1990 before hearing new songs from the virtuoso composer. A recording that did not completely live up to expectations, greeted by mixed reviews and disappointing sales which had painfully reached 50,000 copies at the time. Which did not prevent him from carrying out a great tour in the biggest venues in France in 2023, notably the Accor Arena in Paris.
A venue that he will return to soon, for a concert on June 14, 2025, one of the biggest dates of his tour. After a launch on April 3 in the legendary Apollo Theater in London, “My last tour” will stop in 23 other cities between April and July, from Printemps de Bourges to the Décathlon Arena in Lille, via Bordeaux, Brussels, Marseille, Lyon and even Brest.
