Wednesday to Friday it will be really frosty. The meteorologists expect snow into the lowlands and temperatures below zero. So if you haven’t installed the winter tires yet: go now!
Before it gets really cold, it could still get stormy, as MeteoNews predicts. From today on Monday, stronger westerly winds can be expected, some of which reach storm speeds.
It finally gets really frosty from Wednesday night onwards, when the temperatures drop again and the snow line drops to low altitudes, as MeteoSwiss writes. Snow showers are possible during the night, but also on Wednesday morning.

In western Switzerland, in the Vaudois Jura and in Lower Valais, the snowfall limit drops to up to 500 meters above sea level. According to forecasts, the maximum temperature is four degrees. In higher areas, winter really sets in. Ski resorts can look forward to a decent amount of fresh snow. The meteorologists from MeteoNews appeal:
“If you haven’t changed to winter tires yet, now is the time!”
More or less the same applies to Thursday and Friday as to Wednesday: there will be further snowfall on both days, including in the lowlands. In between, the cloudy sky is likely to brighten and the sun will make an interlude.
According to forecasts, the frost period will be over by next weekend. According to MeteoSwiss, there will be a “marked” warming on Saturday, especially in the mountains. (con)
