The Moroccan people as a whole, along with the family of the National Movement, the Resistance and the Liberation Army, commemorate Independence Day, which is a glorious national memory through which we, as current generations, recall a difficult and arduous historical era in the history of the nation, marked by the loss of sovereignty and submission to unjust colonialism. We also remember with her the heroic epics of our fathers and grandfathers, and the trials, tribulations and hardships they endured, in defense of the unity and integrity of the land, and in their struggle to gain the blessing of freedom and independence.
Celebrating Independence Day does not stop only at the threshold of recalling the stages of the national struggle for freedom and independence, and the prominent events and turning points that took place. Its first features were formed by the outbreak of military resistance led by tribal leaders after Morocco was subjected to the protectorate regime in 1912, through the transition to political resistance, with the emergence of the movement. Nationalism (early 1930s), which demanded reform under colonialism in a first stage (presenting reform demands), and independence in a second stage (presenting a document January 11, 1944), ending with the exile of Sultan Muhammad bin Yusuf and the outbreak of the King and People’s Revolution (August 20, 1953), and the decisive events that followed, culminating in the return of the Sultan and the declaration of independence. Rather, it goes beyond that to the level of drawing lessons and lessons learned from these events, turning points, and the values of sincere patriotism, and the responsibility, sacrifice, patience, loyalty, and sincerity associated with them, and the close adherence to the universal national and religious constants.
The glorious anniversary is an annual occasion to hold ourselves accountable, as a state, successive governments, individuals and groups, regarding the extent to which we bear our responsibilities and obligations towards this dear country after seven decades of independence. This legitimate question finds its objective justification in the selfishness, selfishness, opportunism, greed, avarice, and narrow political calculations that have come to dominate us, and the miserable discourses we have come to produce dedicated to feelings of despair, frustration, blocked horizons, and loss of confidence in the state, the law, and institutions.
Today, in light of the challenges facing the Kingdom’s territorial integrity, and what we as Moroccans aspire to in terms of development and radiation, and taking into account the humility that society has reached in national values, and recalling the immortal heroic epics whose features were drawn by fathers and grandfathers in defense of the nation’s fever, it has become necessary to turn around. Concerning the nation, by rejecting destructive differences, putting forward the rhetoric of futility and despair, and tightening the noose on corruption in all its forms, whether apparent or otherwise. Belly, individual and collective involvement in serving the interests of the nation and its crucial issues, and responsible contribution to winning the stakes of the comprehensive development process, which is led by the King of the country, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, with silence, wisdom and foresight.
The celebrations commemorating the glorious independence must not forget a number of parts of Moroccan territory that are still under occupation, most notably Ceuta, Melilla, and a number of Moroccan islands, without forgetting the Moroccan Eastern Sahara, which was carved out by the unjust French colonialism from Morocco during the 19th century AD and during the protectorate era, and annexed it to French Algeria. This unfortunate, dusty reality requires keeping the flame of liberation burning. The path to liberation and realizing the true borders begins first with liberating the nation from the vain, the wretched, the corrupt, the careerists, the opportunists, the selfish, and the hypocrites, who obstruct the wheel of construction, growth, and radiance, and the mobilization of energies and capabilities, which pushes in the direction of possessing the conditions of power, without which disengagement is difficult and liberation is impossible.
Today’s Morocco, with its progress, development and radiance, needs real officials and statesmen who serve the country with sincerity, sincerity, honesty, integrity, integrity and selflessness, who produce a speech of hope and strengthen the individual and collective feeling that another Morocco is taking shape and emerging, driven by the same national, religious and moral values. Which was sufficient to defeat colonialism, confront its unjust conspiracies, and pave the way to freedom and independence. No to irresponsible officials and men who destroy the image of the nation with their lack of modesty, insolence, greed, and frivolity. Therefore, today’s battle, as much as it is a battle for territorial unity and a comprehensive development battle, is as much a battle for a sustainable confrontation of all those who tamper with the body of the nation without shame or modesty.
We conclude by recalling the sublime royal speech addressed to the nation on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Green March, in which His Majesty King Mohammed VI sent a clear and firm message to those who have dual positions and those who evade the duties of citizenship, by saying: “In the spirit of responsibility, we emphasize that there is no longer room for ambiguity or deception. Either the citizen is Moroccan, or non-Moroccan. The time for dual positions and evasion of duty has ended, and the hour of clarity and honesty has arrived. Either a person is a patriot or a traitor, as there is no middle ground between patriotism and treason. There is no room for enjoying the rights of citizenship, or denying them, by conspiring with the enemies of the homeland.”.
This royal message applies, in addition to those conspiring with the enemies of the homeland, to everyone who betrays the homeland through his corruption, absurdity, greed, recklessness, and irresponsibility, and everyone in whom feelings of patriotism are not stirred, when the homeland is exposed to abuse, blackmail, bargaining, or assault, and everyone who blackmails the state in the name of normalization. He declares public loyalty to the enemies of the homeland… No matter what is said or may be said, we hope that the homeland remains free, safe, stable, reassured, and beautiful, because The common home that shelters us with all our differences, contradictions, and stubbornness. One of the duties of citizenship is to protect this country, and contribute individually and collectively to its prosperity and radiance, through commitment, discipline, good behavior, and loyalty to God, the country, and the king.
