England national team star Harry Kane appeared in press statements, after defeating Ireland 5-0 at the conclusion of the group stage of the second classification of the European Nations League.
Kane said “It was a really important win for us. It was a really good camp and we had two tough matches. We got the job done in Greece and again here. The first half was tough but we came out with more energy.”
He added: “We talked about new opportunities for the new guys and they showed why they were here and scored two good goals. It was also good for Jarrod Bowen to participate and score a goal immediately after his participation.”
He added: “Thomas Tuchel (the new coach of the national team) has a lot of players to choose from. A lot of young players who came and performed well and some more experienced players who were injured and will look to return, so there is a good balance. I am sure.” Tuchel will look at everyone.”
On Lee Carsley’s influence as interim coach of the national team: “He was first-class, he and all the members of the team after the European Championship were not of It’s never easy to go straight back to the UEFA Nations League, and sometimes the motivation is a little less.”
He concluded: “I’m really happy because we won today and finished the season well.”
