Algeria finishes in style and remains undefeated, Togo wins

End of the African Cup of Nations qualifiers in Group E where the suspense was no longer relevant. First, Algeria finished undefeated thanks to another big success against Liberia (5-1). The Fennecs were however led with the early goal of Sampson Dweh (6th) but Aïssa Mandi (20th) then Riyad Mahrez (29th) allowed Vladimir Petkovic's band to return to the scoreboard. Bounedjah (64th, 3-1), Gouiri (74th, 4-1) and Amoura (90th+5) subsequently increased the score.

At the end of the match, Algeria confirms its logical leadership position with 16 points gleaned in 6 matches. Large victory also for Togo against Equatorial Guinea (3-0). The Togolese were, however, eliminated, but finished in third place in the group thanks to goals from Yaw Annor (14th, 87th) and Denkey (54th). Defeat without consequences therefore for Equatorial Guinea which will go well to the African Cup of Nations. The country thus maintains its 2nd place within group E with its 8 points.
