They celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary this year. Julian Bugier, the presenter of the 1 p.m. news on France 2, met journalist Claire Fournier when he was still very young, only 19 years old. At the time, the man who was fed up with his “handsome” image was starting out as a journalist and was in London on the financial and economic channel Bloomberg TV. It was on this occasion that he met his future wife, she officiated from the New York offices.
“Claire was one of the key faces of the channel, since she was a correspondent in New York. I worked for her from London”explained the journalist who will celebrate his 44th birthday on November 22 in the columns of La Tribune Sunday last May, before adding that their real meeting had been magical: “And then one day, we found ourselves in London and it was love at first sight. Twenty years of marriage and two children…” The couple, in fact, welcomed a boy, Lucien, born in 2011, and a girl, Gabrielle, born two years later.

Julian Bugier, a man very proud of his wife
Proud of his wife and in love like the first day, Julian Bugier spoke in this same interview of their age difference – Claire Fournier is eight years older than her husband – even if the couple has always cultivated discretion, never rarely appearing on each other's arms. “Claire is a little older than me and I have always had a lot of admiration for her. She is always challenged”he just noted. If the lovers are modest, the journalist was surprised when his wife mentioned a very personal subject in her podcast, called Hot inside : her menopause. On the set of What an era! in June, he revealed his pride, but also his incomprehension at the very beginning: “I was a bit stupid. She's someone who is quite reserved in life in general, and then, all of a sudden, she was saying things in her podcast that she hadn't told me …” Very quickly, the father also understood that this podcast allowed Claire Fournier to confide in a subject that is not always easy to discuss. “I understood lots and lots of things. Bravo to her, I’m very proud of what she does”he concluded on the subject. Julian Bugier and Claire Fournier, a happy couple moving forward together.
