The malaise at the Red Devils continues unabated. The criticism of national coach Domenico Tedesco is increasing day by day.
Philippe Albert believes he should be very honest about the current situation of the national team. He has nothing against the coach, but since the successful start against Germany, nothing has improved according to the analyst.
The recent results at the European Championship and in the Nations League only strengthen Albert’s opinion. And since the dreadful European Championship, things have only gotten worse, he notes in the Walloon newspaper La Capitale.
“As long as Tedesco keeps experimenting with different tactics and trying different players, some of whom don’t even deserve to be in the national team, he will be in big trouble,” Albert said.
The current core cannot be compared to that of the Red Devils’ glory years, but for Albert the national coach is paid to get the most out of his core and that is clearly not the case.
“I would even go so far as to say that Tedesco’s position is in danger of becoming untenable, despite the injuries and absences. The Football Association must take responsibility and put the costs of dismissal on the table.”
If the Red Devils are relegated in the Nations League, Albert says you have no choice but to enter into the debate about Tedesco’s dismissal.
