The most beautiful woman in the world comes from Denmark. The 73rd Miss Universe pageant, held in Mexico City last night, saw the victory of Danish candidate Victoria Kjaer Theilvig. The podium is completed with Miss Nigeria, first runner-up, and Miss Mexico, second runner-up.
Miss France 2024 achieved a very good performance. Indira Ampiot entered the Top 30 while 127 young women were competing. This result had not been known for France since Clémence Botino in 2021.
The candidates had been in Mexico for two weeks to prepare for the competition, between interviews with the jury, preparation for the fashion show and outfits. Indira Ampiot highlighted the symbols of France in her national dress, the flag, the cockade, the beret and the rooster.
Three French representatives were in competition this year with Coraly Desplan for Guadeloupe and Catherine Edouard for Martinique. The French overseas territories had not been represented in the Miss Universe competition since 1984. These participations are independent of the national Miss France election.

The next election of Miss France 2025 will be organized on December 14 at Futuroscope in Poitiers. The thirty candidates are flying off this Sunday for the preparation trip to Ivory Coast.
