Who is Manuel Pia
During today’s episode, Saturday 17 November 2024, of ‘Verissimo’ Dalila Di Lazzaro will be a guest of Silvia Toffanin together with her partner Manuel Pia. Musician and singer-songwriter of Sardinian origin, over the years he has had the opportunity to collaborate with what is now his current partner, sharing with her the passion for music. Their strong bond was born from this shared passion, so much so that as Mara Venier’s guest on ‘Domenica In’, Manuel Pia defined Dalila Di Lazzaro as “a splendid and special person”, explaining how the fortune of meeting her and being able to collaborate with her gave him gave me the opportunity to get to know her better. Pia considers himself a lucky man and he told Mara Venier how he had to leave everything because Dalila Di Lazzaro had had serious health problems and he was close to her, making a radical change of life: “She is a very suffering woman, but always gives strength to others.” Guest of Caterina Balivo on “Today is another day”, Dalila Di Lazzaro in turn had told of her special understanding with Manuel Pia, underlining how he seems like her “male twin”, adding that when they write together they have an enormous understanding.
The death of his son Christian
In 1991 Dalila Di Lazzaro’s life was turned upside down by a terrible loss: the death of her son Christian at the age of 22 due to a road accident. In a past interview given to ‘Verissimo’, Dalila Di Lazzaro had told how every day her son sends her a signal, underlining how it is a great lack. Furthermore, in that interview Dalila Di Lazzaro had said that after that loss she would have liked to adopt a child, but they didn’t allow her: “I would have liked to continue giving love”.

The accident and chronic pain
Over 25 years ago Dalila Di Lazzaro was the victim of a moped accident caused by a pothole in the road surface of Rome which caused several fractures and condemned her to chronic pain which still torments her today. During an interview given to Mara Venier during ‘Domenica In’, Dalila Di Lazzaro said: “For 11 years I didn’t get out of bed, not even to wash myself.” On that occasion, Di Lazzaro explained that it was a nightmare also because the doctors in Italy didn’t believe her, at the time there was still no talk of chronic pain. The actress and writer had to go to Arizona and there they were amazed that in our country they weren’t talking about it yet.
