After being released from his contract with Juventus, Paul Pogba is now on the hunt for his next destination, and it could be in Major League Soccer.
Pogba’s returns to club football have not gone as planned. Following his move back to Manchester United in 2016, his Italian comeback with Juventus in the summer of 2022 also fell flat. Having tested positive for testosterone and initially facing a four-year ban, the French international recently had his punishment reduced to eighteen months. However, this was not enough to change Juventus’s mind, as they decided to part ways. An amicable agreement between both parties has now been reached, leaving Pogba to find a new club.
For some, it appears that the North American league could be where “La Pioche” finds his next opportunity. Speaking on the L’Équipe channel on Friday night, journalist Carine Galli expressed her support for a move to MLS. “MLS. You can go there and come back. Ibra did it.”, suggested Galli. The journalist believes that Pogba could regain his form and confidence in a league with less intensity before potentially returning to Europe.

“What he needs is to regain his confidence. He needs to be happy. He needs someone to give him a chance. I think the idea of going to MLS for a season and then returning to Europe makes sense.” However, when interviewed ten days ago about the possibility of joining Ligue 1, the 2018 World Cup champion appeared less enthusiastic, as he has never played in the French league.
Paul Pogba will be eligible to play professional football again starting March 2025. Where will he end up? That remains a mystery. What is certain, though, is that if he aims to reach his peak form by the 2026 World Cup to play for France, he will need to make a calculated decision regarding his next club.
