Lahoussine’s incredible bad series

It is true that at this age the most important thing is not the result but the content, however the series of matches without a victory of the Algerian U17 selection leaves one wondering.

Recently Aziz Lahoussine, the U17 coach, took stock of his work since taking office in February 2024, explaining in particular that he did not have time to call on Algerians playing abroad. Beyond this aspect of prospecting, the results leave one wondering.

Under his leadership, Algeria is contesting its
third tournament in 2024 and we can only see that the team in eleven matches against selections has only one victory for three draws and now 7 defeats in a row.

A year after a CAN played at home and concluded by an early elimination 3-0 in the quarter-finals for a very average result under the orders of Arezki Remmane, our U17s first had a friendly UNAF tournament at home in April, result three draws and a victory against Libya.

In July two friendly matches against Sudan in Algiers ended in two defeats, not very serious until then. In September FIFA invites us to a tournament in Ivory Coast, three matches, three defeats including a 4-7 against South Africa and a scathing 1-4 against Zambia.

This week we are playing the qualifications for the CAN of the category during the UNAF tournament of the category in Morocco and the greens already have two defeats against Tunisia and Egypt…
The U17s now have no other choice but to win their last two matches and count on a favorable goal difference to hope to qualify.
