This Thursday, November 14 was a great day for Indira Ampiot . The young woman, who represents France at Miss Universe, really launched herself into the competition by participating in the preliminary competition known as the “Preliminary show” in Mexico where the international election is held.
During this evening, the 135 (!) candidates presented themselves in an evening dress, then paraded in another very elegant outfit before performing in swimsuits and then in national costume.

Concerning the outfit she was going to wear to represent France, Indira Ampiot kept the suspense until the end. It was only a few hours before going on stage that the young woman revealed her clothing. She posted a video on her Instagram account filmed at the Opéra-comique in which she parades dressed with it.
She chose to take inspiration from the French flag for this costume, the contours of which she sketched herself. “I wanted to bring together the symbols of France. The flag, the cockade, the rooster, the beret, all in a sparkling universe”she wrote in her post on Instagram.
She presented herself with this creation designed by the Manzel brand in front of the jurors and spectators. A creation composed of a blue, white and red bustier decorated with rhinestones and an open skirt also in the colors of the tricolor standard revealing her legs. On her head, the beauty queen wore a headdress with a beret topped with a cockade and feathers.

The evening went wonderfully for the young woman who offered a languorous parade in a sublime off-white dress then a superb catwalk (read parade) in a swimsuit. It was during the presentation of her national costume that she faced a small incident. As she began to walk across the stage to highlight her outfit, she got her heel stuck in part of her skirt. As she resumed the show, she had difficulty getting her foot out of the dress which caused an imbalance.
Despite everything, Indira Ampiot did not fall, she managed to catch herself and stretched her arms upwards in victory once recovered, offering a broad smile. A reaction full of humor which amused the presenters of the evening and pleased the public who largely encouraged it.
A few moments later, Miss France 2023 returned to this incident in a story on her Instagram account: “I really liked this evening, it was really nice. It's true that there was a little problem with my national costume but I was always tripping over it so I knew it was going to happen. But hey, it doesn't matter. At least I laughed, I screamed, I had fun. I think that’s the main thing”she confided, with her famous good humor.
This preliminary show aimed to select the twelve finalists. The young woman will represent France during the Miss Universe 2024 election which will take place from two a.m. on the night of Saturday November 16 to Sunday November 17 and will be broadcast live on Paris Première.
