Popular YouTuber Coffeezilla, known for investigating and exposing scams online, has recently put out a video about the allegations of shady cryptocurrency dealings involving Jimmy “MrBeast.”
Last month, a report on loock.io claimed that various cryptocurrency wallets associated with MrBeast had been doing less than ethical dealings on various blockchains. The report also accused the content creator of insider trading, using his vast influence to illegally manipulate the cryptocurrency market, and engaging in pump and dumps to earn $23 million.
In his latest 24-minute video, Coffeezilla investigated some of these claims and could not really come to a proper conclusion. Taking to X, he noted that the results of his investigation were complicated:
“I reached out to crypto researchers, crypto project owners and Mr Beast himself to get to the bottom of recent allegations of shady crypto deals. What I found was a complicated mess: There were some people who claim Jimmy did nothing wrong, others who claimed ‘his team will ruin his reputation dumping tokens in this manner.’ I’ll let you decide who you believe.”
Coffeezilla says the only response he got from MrBeast’s team concerning his investigation came in the form of written statement from Matthew Hiltzik
MrBeast has been embroiled in various controversies this year, starting with the grooming allegations levied against his former team member, Ava Kris Tyson. Even though an internal investigation, done with the help of a third party, found no evidence of wrongdoing, the YouTuber faced severe backlash.
More recently, his business dealings with Logan Paul and KSI have been under scrutiny after reports of people finding mold in pre-packaged Lunchables boxes went viral on social media.
While last month’s loock.io report made quite a wave in the online community, Coffeezilla’s latest YouTube video is slated to bring it to a wider audience.
Coffeezilla made several accusations against MrBeast’s business partner Logan Paul last year with respect to the CryptoZoo scandal. He is currently being sued for it by Paul.
MrBeast has not directly responded to Coffeezilla’s latest investigation. In the post on X, Coffeezilla said the only response he got from the YouTuber’s team came in the form of a written statement from publicist Matthew Hiltzik.
According to the statement shared by Coffeezilla, Hiltzik tried to absolve MrBeast of any accusations, saying the content creator was not directly associated with the cryptocurrency dealings and that the trade decisions were made by a separate team managing the wallets:
“These investments were made and managed In consultation with industry experts to ensure full compliance with all appropriate rules and regulations. The wallet is not owned or managed by Jimmy, but rather a fund led by respected and sophisticated managers.”
Hiltzik also seemingly contested that the dealings were illegal or shady. He claimed that the investments made through the cryptocurrency wallets associated with MrBeast allegedly “apply the same rigorous standards as many other experienced investors in the field.”
As noted, MrBeast has not spoken about the allegations or Coffeezilla’s investigation in public.
