Prime Minister Michel Barnier announced on Thursday November 14 in West Francewhich he would engage “probably” the responsibility of its government on the budget using article 49.3 of the Constitution, which allows adoption of the text without a vote. When I see what happened in the Assembly, it seems difficult to do otherwise at the end of the discussion. But you will observe that we have chosen to let the debate take place there.he explains.

The National Assembly on Wednesday objected to the “revenue” part of the draft budget for 2025, which had been profoundly modified by the left, leading to the rejection of the entire text at the Palais-Bourbon. The budget will now be examined in the Senate, where the right has a majority.

While 49.3 can be followed by the filing of a motion of censure, he considers that “the French do not want” the overthrow of the government. “What I hear the most is: 'Courage, hold on! Believe me, I don't miss it,' he said. The Prime Minister also promises “significant adjustments” in favor of communities, from whom the government is asking for savings.

The Prime Minister assures that he will not “not recreate” a housing tax, which had been abolished by Emmanuel Macron and whose return is demanded by certain mayors, nor “create new taxes” local. He also shows himself “very reserved” on the idea of eliminating a public holiday to fill the Social Security coffers.
